Troubleshooting Common Issues

Swallowing air

Sucking in with cheeks

Moving the jaw

Noisy swallowing
Difficulty drawing water out
Before using the Myo-Nozzle, practice putting the tip of your tongue in the correct location, or what we call “The Spot.”
Tip: Practice pronouncing the letter “N” (in English). This typically puts the tip of your tongue in the correct location. Repetitively pronounce the letter “N” (silently if your family is sleeping!) to familiarize yourself with “The Spot.”
  1. Place the Myo-Nozzle in your mouth. Ensure your lips are at the wide part of the Myo-Nozzle, creating a light seal.
  2. Find “The Spot” with the tip of your tongue and lightly pin the Myo-Nozzle against “The Spot.” Keep the tip of your tongue anchored here as best as you can.
  3. Without moving the tip off of “The Spot,” begin to compress the Myo-Nozzle with your tongue. For those with a high palate, the Myo-Nozzle may need to be more against the palate vs. flat on the tongue.
Make sure the Myo-Nozzle is in all the way, keep the tongue tip anchored to the bottom of the nozzle where “the spot” would be (where you say N). Relax the face and try to hold the jaw still, or lightly massage the cheeks to remind yourself to relax the cheeks. Use the tongue to draw the water out instead of the cheeks like with a normal straw.

Use the tongue to draw the water out instead of the cheeks like with a normal straw. If you are struggling with this, gently hold the lower jaw or lightly massage the cheeks to release that tension and draw the liquid in using the tongue.
Make sure the Myo-Nozzle is in all the way, keep the tongue tip anchored to the bottom of the nozzle where “the spot” would be (where you say N). Think of the tongue like a pump: the center of the tongue should draw the water out and cup it in the center of the tongue, then when swallowing, the center of the tongue pumps against the Myo-Nozzle and palate to swallow the water. Staying relaxed and not straining can also help.
Make sure the Myo-Nozzle is in all the way, keep the tongue tip anchored to the bottom of the nozzle where “the spot” would be (where you say N). You may be unintentionally trying to use it like a normal straw and using cheek muscles. To suck in water using the tongue, make sure that you get the tongue positioned correctly, and focus on relaxing the cheeks and not moving the jaw. You may need to gently massage the cheeks to relax them. Focus on small sips. Once you get it started, keep the nozzle in and practice doing back-to-back drinks and breathing through the nose when you need to. You may also want to make sure the mouthpiece is inserted all the way in the straw.

Common Proper Use Questions

How do I know if I’m using the right level of Myo-Nozzle?
Choosing the right REMplenish Myo-Nozzle depends on your individual muscle tone and comfort. The goal is to feel gentle resistance—enough to engage your tongue and throat muscles, but not so much that it feels difficult or uncomfortable.

If you’re using the Level 1 Myo-Nozzle and it feels too easy—you’re not noticing resistance or muscle engagement—it may be time to move up to Level 2, or reach out to our team for a quick proper use consultation to confirm your form.

If you’re using the Level 2 Myo-Nozzle and experience strong muscle fatigue or soreness, difficulty drawing water, or a pronounced gag reflex, that may be a sign that Level 2 is too advanced for now. Try returning to Level 1 or contact customer support for guidance on technique and progression.

Remember, it’s normal to build strength gradually. The right level should feel challenging but comfortable, helping you strengthen your airway muscles safely over time.

How often should I use my REMplenish Myo-Nozzle?

Just drink water through the REMplenish Myo-Nozzle as you normally would. The nozzle adds gentle resistance that strengthens your tongue and throat muscles over time. Adults should aim for drinking 25–64 oz per day; children 15–30 oz per day.

Like any muscle exercise, the benefits fade if you stop. Think of REMplenish as a long-term healthy habit—part of how you drink water every day. Once you’ve reached your goal, adults should continue drinking at least 25 oz twice weekly. It is recommended that children drink at least 15 oz daily.

How long does it take to notice improvement?

Most users begin to see benefits after about one month of regular use. Everyone’s progress timeline is different: some notice results more quickly, while others take a little longer.

Consistency is the best predictor of success. Improvements build over time and typically stabilize around 6 months. Continued weekly use helps maintain progress and keeps airway muscles strong.

Don’t get discouraged!

Why am I not getting water through the Myo-Nozzle?

If you’re not getting any—or very little—water, you’re likely pulling in with your cheeks as you would with a regular straw. The Myo-Nozzle works differently: it’s powered by your tongue, not your cheeks.

If water flow feels low, try increasing the number of tongue “push-ups” or swallow repetitions. Review the proper use recommendations to confirm that you’re using the right technique to draw water effectively.

How can I track my progress?

Tracking your progress helps you stay consistent and notice subtle improvements over time. Choose a method that works for you—like a journal or sleep tracker—and note how you feel before and after starting REMplenish.

Things to pay attention to:
  • Morning headaches or brain fog
  • Daytime tiredness levels
  • Sleep quality or duration (from your tracker or app)
  • Nighttime bathroom trips
  • Frequency or intensity of snoring (reported by a partner or through an app like SnoreLab)
After several weeks, see if you notice:
  • Feeling more rested when waking up
  • More energy throughout the day
  • Fewer nighttime bathroom trips
  • Falling asleep faster and staying asleep longer
  • A reduction in snoring frequency or volume
  • An overall improvement in how you feel

How do I clean my REMplenish Myo-Nozzle?

Your REMplenish Myo-Nozzle and straw are top-rack dishwasher safe, though we recommend gentle handwashing. Use warm water, mild dish soap, and the provided brush at least once a week—or more often as needed.

To sanitize, you can:
  • Boil the nozzle in hot water, or
  • Rinse it in 70% isopropyl alcohol or white distilled vinegar.
Always rinse thoroughly with clean water afterward to remove any residue. Allow to fully dry.

You can also squeeze the nozzle against the provided brush to clean small areas or crevices. Regular cleaning is the best way to prevent buildup—don’t wait until it looks dirty to clean it.

There’s a small slit between the two holes on my Myo-Nozzle. Is it damaged?

No. The REMplenish Myo-Nozzle is designed with a small slit connecting two openings that create the resistance used for exercise. This slit is intentional and completely normal.

If the slit has extended beyond those two openings, you can request a free replacement within 90 days of purchase. Request a warranty replacement here. (You may be asked to include a photo for quality review.)

Please note: The Myo-Nozzle is not designed to withstand chewing or biting. Doing so will cause damage to the silicone.
Is the Myo-Nozzle supposed to fold when I close the flip-top lid?
Yes. When you close the bottle’s clear flip-top, the Myo-Nozzle will bend neatly underneath it. This is an intentional part of the design and won’t harm the nozzle or affect its performance.
