Who We Are

Healthy breathing is the foundation of a healthy life — yet for millions, it doesn’t come easily. At REMplenish, we believe that strengthening the airway shouldn’t require bulky machines or invasive procedures. It should start with something simple, natural, and sustainable.

That belief is what inspired our team to rethink how airway health could be supported — not through treatment alone, but through daily habits that help people breathe and sleep better for life.

How It All Began

In 2017, while completing his Master of Science in Medical Device Innovation at the University of Minnesota, Anders Olmanson discovered a troubling truth: millions of people struggle to breathe and sleep well, yet most never get the help they need.

He learned that up to 80% of people with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) remain undiagnosed, and even among those who do get treatment, CPAP—the gold standard—has only about a 60% compliance rate.

Too many people were still exhausted, frustrated, and searching for better answers.

Driven to make a difference, Anders assembled a small team to explore one big question:

Could there be a simpler, more natural way to strengthen the airway itself?

The Discovery

Their research led them down an unexpected path—one that included a study on using the didgeridoo (yes, the Australian wind instrument) to reduce sleep apnea symptoms. The science was fascinating: playing the didgeridoo engaged and strengthened the muscles of the tongue and throat, helping to keep the airway open during sleep.

That discovery opened the door to a growing body of research on oropharyngeal exercises—targeted movements that train the mouth, tongue, and throat for better breathing. These exercises addressed one of the root causes of snoring and sleep apnea: when the tongue weakens and falls back during sleep, it can block airflow or cause vibration.

The problem?

Very few people were willing or able to stick with daily exercises.

The “Aha” Moment

In 2019, the team began exploring how to make airway training simple, effective, and sustainable.

Using human-centered design principles, they brainstormed how to integrate therapy into daily life—something people would actually enjoy.

Then came a spark of inspiration.

What if the same muscles could be trained through something we already do every day—like drinking water?

The idea clicked—with a little help from Comet, a team member’s dog, and his peanut-butter Kong toy.

That playful moment sparked the idea behind the REMplenish Myo-Nozzle: a patented oral training device that turns hydration into a simple, effective way to strengthen the airway muscles naturally.

Inspiration can come from anywhere… even a dog’s favorite toy.

What began as a graduate project soon grew into a mission-driven medtech company dedicated to improving airway health for everyone.

Today, REMplenish is trusted by healthcare professionals and used by people of all ages to reduce snoring, support nasal breathing, and improve sleep quality.

Our 2020 usability study showed that 93% of snorers reported noticeable improvement after just one month of consistent use.

And the research continues—Mayo Clinic is currently conducting a National Institutes of Health–funded clinical trial to further validate how REMplenish improves airway health, reduces snoring, and enhances sleep and energy.

Every day, we’re driven by one simple belief:
Better breathing can change lives.
